Food Amounts and Bulimia

Hey
I was recently in the hospital after receiving a concussion from falling off a ladder. I was up fixing the roof and coming down and that is honestly the last thing I remember. The next thing I knew, or at least aware of, I woke up in the hospital.

That was a nightmare for a few days.

The good news is that I did not break anything. I acquired a brain bruise and some internal bleeding but it could have been much worse. I do thank the universe. People have died falling less distance.

So I am writing this to point out that during my stay in the hospital I became fascinated by the portions of the hospital food. Now you could order anything you wanted off a menu. But no matter what you ordered it came in a fairly small portion. Or at least what I perceived as small.

Becoming curious I asked to see the nutritionist connected with the hospital cafeteria. After talking to her for a while I have started to realize how far off I was when it comes to the amount of food I have become used too. Way too much.

Now I understand that there are different body types and needs. And we all have to look at that and adjust appropriately. But honestly the average restaurant gives you twice as much food than you need to eat at any time. No wonder we all struggle with our satiety centers and the inability to decide when we are full.

So I am going to make a recommendation. Go to your local library, or on line, or if you can afford it go see a nutritionist. I really think the information you will receive will really help you on your way as far as bulimic reactions are concerned. Tackle this from a scientific perspective not an emotional one.

Sorry it's been a while but I am back to normal and will resume writing weekly. Will post another video blog soon.

In Loving Kindness
Bryan
