Hey
I would like to address an issue that has become more apparent now that I am doing some interviews concerning bulimia and specifically male bulimia.
There seems to be an overwhelming desire to place the blame squarely on the backs of others.
Family specifically. I understand. I did the same thing for years. Never once making the decision to take responsibility myself for my own actions.
What I am saying is that the decision to binge and purge will not stop unless I am willing to place the onus of responsibility on myself.
Why?
Because blaming others puts the control for stopping directly in their power. As long as I am willing to place the blame for my actions on others I will also have to accept that for me to stop is also directly in their power.
It makes sense.
So the very next time you sit down to eat take a second and accept total responsibility for eating appropriately.
If you are binging and purging take responsibility for abusing yourself.
If you do either of the above it will put the power and control back in your field of influence.
In Loving Kindness
Bryan
